There was definitely a learning curve to caring for my colour-treated curls (thanks @patriciaajani for the colour magic!) Going into it, I knew I’d have to switch up my products, but I just wasn’t prepared for 1 - the change in texture that comes with colour-treating your hair, and 2 - the trial and error with products, ingredients, and techniques to get curls that I was thrilled with. Suddenly my easy to manage hair became, well, harder to manage. That meant trying A LOT of new products, going back to some old faves, and being very strict with protein treatments and ensuring that all of my products and my regimen were targeting moisturizing and hydration (no they aren’t the same thing!)

I’m now (finally) at a stage where I understand my hair and her needs again, and BABY these curls are thriving! I’m trying to stretch the balayage touch ups a bit to reduce the damage to my hair, so yesterday I went in for a toner refresh (I needed it) and Patricia - the magician that she is - perfectly blended the colour to my natural colour so I don’t look two toned.

The exhausted but happy faces of a gal who just wrapped on her most recent movie. Phew! The last few days of this shoot were INTENSE and draining, but I loved every minute of it. How lucky am I to start my new year literally in my main character energy?!

I’m so grateful for this experience with our amazing cast and crew who pushed through the gruelling schedule and at times unkind and harsh elements. Really looking forward to sharing the finished product with you!

I can’t wait to share more about this project, but in the meantime, please enjoy me beaming at these beautiful flowers that the producers gave me and the 2 others leads 🥹

Thank you all so much for taking the time to wish me a happy birthday! Your calls, texts, DMs, presence (and presents) really made me feel extra special and brimming with love. I’m so grateful for all of you 🩷

As many of you know, for me, my New Year really starts at my birthday. So cheers to my new year 🥂! 2023 was a year of love for me - falling deeply in love, loving and feeling the love from my family and friends, falling deeply in love with myself, discovering new (and old) parts of myself to love, challenging myself to love me enough to bet on myself, to try new things, and to find ways to share the love I have in me. Love love love. Don’t get me wrong, my last year wasn’t all roses, but when I reflect back on it, I feel the warmth and love that 2023 brought me, and I feel like the luckiest girl in the world!

This coming year, I promise myself to double down on all the love from last year, and to bet on myself even harder, more boldly, while having a lot more fun. Y’all, I want to have my cake and eat it too 💁🏽‍♀️ Get ready for me - in 2024, we live and love out loud! ✨💕
