Check out that hair flip! 🤣 You all seemed to love the picture of me and @jagmeetsingh I shared a few days ago, so I figured I should share what happened right before that picture was taken and explain the giant smile I had on my face…he made he blush! Thanks to his amazing aide who offered to film our interaction and take pictures!

This was taken at the @canadianlabour convention this past May, where I was with a vocal cohort from @actranational representing @actramtl and spreading the word about our ongoing commercial lockout. Jagmeet had previously spoken out against the locked out engagers, and spoke in solidarity with ACTRA. He was so kind and engaged with everyone he met (every time I spotted him there was a crazy long lineup of people looking to meet him and take a picture. I got lucky at one time that day and spotted him with nobody waiting and took my chance.) Needless to say, I was charmed 🤭

🍎Taking things slow this Canadian Thanksgiving Monday with these homemade (by yours truly) caramel apple crumble donuts. Yes, they’re gluten free!

🍎 Our country has its own issues (and there are so so many.) To be able to seek comfort in the things that brings me joy, like baking - and eating - these gluten free desserts is a privilege I don’t take for granted. I am safe. The ones I hold dear are safe. And I’m eating some delicious treats while researching, further educating myself, and learning about atrocious acts of violence committed against innocent people on the other side of the world. It’s an unbalanced dynamic that we’re all trying to grapple with.

🍁 So today on Thanksgiving, I’m doubling down on gratitude for so much, including being safe and sound. I hope you’re all safe and healthy. I encourage you to take some time to learn more about what is going on in the world, including the history and the complex nuances involved so that we can all approach this with more love and empathy. That’s what the world needs right now 🩷
