Who had “spend the night in the ER due to a severe allergic reaction” on their 2024 bingo card? “Potential new food allergy”? Not me! (I’M OKAY NOW, just groggy)

The last 24 hours were a ROLLERCOASTER. Caught up with @tanyakmajor and met her adorable little charmer Jax 🩵, ate something that triggered the worst allergic reaction I’ve ever had🤦🏽‍♀️, and got 2 bookings🎉. All in 24 hours. Up and down doesn’t begin to describe it lol But thankfully I’m okay - the nurses and doctors at the Jewish General Hospital ER took amazing care of me (and acted quickly!)

If you feel like you’re having an allergic reaction, the best time to use your Epipen if you have one is right away. Whether you have one or not, go to the ER. I feel like I was prescribed my epipen without any real guidelines as to what is a severe enough reaction to warrant using it, so I hesitated. And hesitated to seek medical attention.

So I urge to learn more about what’s a mild, moderate, or severe allergic reaction and what warrants medical attention - trust me, it takes way less of a reaction than you’d imagine. Don’t wait until you’re gasping for air to get that shot of epi and seek medical care - those seconds or minutes could make a world of difference 🩷
